God's Love Letters to You by Dr. Larry Crabb
Thomas Nelson(May 2011)
About the book -
Experience a unique conversation with God through a daily devotional reading based on twenty Old Testament and twenty New Testament books of the Bible. Written to help the reader listen to what God is saying in His Word, God’s Love Letters to You offers a life-changing encounter with God through the story He is telling. Author Larry Crabb brings the big picture of God’s story into clearer focus, helping readers catch an enticing glimpse of how each of these forty books of the Bible advances the story. The goal? To lose our story in His.
My review -
God's Love Letters to You by Larry Crabb is based on his best selling devotional, 66 Love Letters. This 40 day devotional doesn't cover all books in the Bible and the chapters are brief. Each day focuses on one of those selected books and includes Scripture, a short message, reflection questions, and a closing prayer. With the conversational style writing it is as if God were speaking to you and makes the whole devotional feel a lot more personal.
You can read this book in one sitting or in a span of 40 days. The writing is easy to read and understand. I liked that each day you focus on one verse and the messages that follow are inspiring and encouraging. This isn't my favorite devotional, but I'd still recommend it. It encourages readers to seek a more deeper, personal relationship with God.
